Tag Along With Me?

I’ve been planning this for a while now, I just didn’t know how to really execute it correctly.

Basically though, after volunteering at a youth center in Chicago and teaching photography a year or two ago, I really enjoyed the aspect of teaching and giving back when I was able to. Fast forward to now—I’m at a place where I’m able to do this in my own way.

I want to open up a conversation and show transparency with how I work; I try to do this as much as I can even if it’s just by releasing tutorials, but now I’m taking it a step further.

I’m inviting people to join me on jobs I may have to see how I personally work, ask me questions, practice your craft, etc. You will NOT to be an assistant (though I may ask for some help sometimes if I truly need it!) but mainly it will be for you to use it as a learning opportunity.

It’s not a workshop per se, but I will be a mentor as much as I can. I will leave all the details below. So excited to do this and meet some of you. I have plans to expand on this idea already so make sure to stay in touch even if you’re not in Chicago, IL!

How It Works

• One person will be chosen randomly to join me on a job. Experience is not required but this will work best for people who have dipped their feet in the photo and/or video world and want to learn more.

• This program will include on-site work as well as post-production.

  • On-Site: You will be able to join me for all or part of the gig. You will be able to ask questions, see what happens behind the scenes, take photos/video, and give me feedback as well.

  • Post-Production: We will meet for one 30 minute session (this will be scheduled pending our availability!) where I will go over part of my workflow for that particular project and so you can ask any follow-up questions.

• You will only be chosen once, but I will, of course, keep your info on file in case I need to hire an assistant or to refer for other jobs.

• Any content created from this program belongs to you. You will be given a contract to ensure you know they are your images and for any other details you may need to know since some projects may require more discretion.

   Subject: Tag Along Project

   Context: Your name, age, location, link to work, (if no website or social media please do not send me multiple attachments in an email. Put it together in a PDF, Pinterest board, Flickr—something where I can keep on file!), and the type of work you’re interested in.

2. Sign up for my email newsletter (bottom of the page) in order to stay up to date on upcoming opportunities and tutorials I may post. I don’t spam, I promise.

3. If you don’t want to sign up, you could also follow my Instagram and/or Twitter since I will post opportunities and updates as well.

   * Most if not all of the jobs will be in Chicago. The open calls will be more detailed of course.
